Vice President of Fundraising (1-2 positions)

Purpose:

Develop and lead fundraising efforts to sustainably support HEART’s mission and programs.

Time Commitment:

6-8 hours/month

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and coordinate fundraising campaigns and events that reflect HEART’s values.
  • Research and identify grant opportunities, donors, and funding partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors and funders.
  • Collaborate with the Treasurer and Board on budget needs and financial reporting.
  • Ensure transparent communication and stewardship with donors.
Experience & Skills:
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations.
  • Strong research and networking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Organized, proactive, and mission-driven.
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse communities and funders.

 


Vice Presidents  of Community Learning

Purpose:

Lead community-centered, inclusive educational programming aligned with HEART’s mission.

Time Commitment:

6-8  hours/month

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate programs like BOOM Club, Listening Circles, and International Day.
  • Collaborate with schools, families, students, and partners to co-design learning opportunities.
  • Facilitate feedback mechanisms to improve programs continuously.
  • Support youth leadership development within programming.
  • Integrate community learning initiatives with organizational strategic plans.
Experience & Skills:
  • Background in education, youth development, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and cultural competency skills.
  • Experience designing and facilitating inclusive programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for youth empowerment and equity-driven education.

 


Vice President of Communications

Purpose:

Amplify Ardsley HEART’s message and maintain clear, consistent communications internally and externally.

Time Commitment:

6-8  hours/month

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Secretary on internal communications and information flow.
  • Manage social media accounts and digital platforms to highlight HEART’s programs and impact.
  • Develop inclusive messaging and outreach materials reflecting the organization’s diversity and values.
  • Serve as liaison for media inquiries in coordination with Co-Presidents.
Experience & Skills:
  • Strong writing and digital communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media and creating outreach content.
  • Ability to craft inclusive messages for diverse audiences.
  • Proactive, creative, and responsive communicator.

 


Treasurer

Purpose:

Ensure transparent, equitable financial stewardship of Ardsley HEART’s resources.

Time Commitment:

6- 8 hours/month

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage bank accounts, deposits, payments, and reimbursements.
  • Keep accurate financial records and perform monthly reconciliations using nonprofit accounting software.
  • Prepare clear financial updates for Board meetings.
  • File IRS Form 990 and NY State Charities Bureau reports timely.
  • Lead budget creation and monitor fiscal health in partnership with Board and Co-Presidents.
  • Review and approve expenditures per approved budget.
  • Assist grant reporting and donor acknowledgment from a financial perspective.
Experience & Skills:
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting or financial management.
  • Familiarity with IRS Form 990 and state reporting preferred.
  • Proficiency with google spreadsheets.
  • Detail-oriented and trustworthy with high integrity.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.

 

 


High School Intern

Purpose:

Support Ardsley HEART’s mission by contributing to communications, programming, and youth-centered initiatives. This is an ideal leadership opportunity for a student interested in advocacy, social justice, or community engagement.

Time Commitment:

4-6 hours/month (flexible based on student availability)

Areas interns can support:

Social Media & Digital Outreach
  • Create and schedule engaging posts (graphics, videos, stories) on Instagram to promote events, student initiatives, and belonging stories.
  • Monitor comments and messages under adult supervision, helping to identify engagement opportunities.
  • Create canva fliers for events
Student Voice & Belonging Campaign
  • Assist with the “Champions of Belonging” campaign by collecting and sharing student stories (via Google Forms, interviews, or social media).
  • Share student perspectives to inform organizational decisions, especially related to school climate, inclusion, and student well-being.
Event & Program Support
  • Help plan and promote youth-centered initiatives like Boom Club, Right to Be workshops, and student-led listening sessions.
  • Provide logistical support for events (flyers, setup, attendance reminders, etc.).
  • Co-host or introduce speakers for student events when appropriate.
  • Provide feedback on programming and help recruit peers to participate in HEART events.
Experience & Skills (ideal but not required):
  • Interest in social justice, education equity, or community service.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfort using social media platforms like Instagram and Canva.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute creatively.
Supervision & Mentorship:
  • Will work under the guidance of the Leadership team
  • Offered mentorship and optional skill-building opportunities (ex: Canva, event planning, communications).
