We imagine a school community where every student experiences a safe, welcoming, supporting, and empowering environment where they can thrive.
Research shows that when students feel a strong sense of connection to their school community, they are more engaged in learning and better equipped to navigate challenges. In the district’s November 2024 Executive Briefing, important “glows” (strengths) and “grows” (areas for improvement) were identified around belonging and connection. While progress has been made, there is still significant work to do to ensure that every student feels included, supported, and valued.
At Ardsley HEART, we are committed to partnering with families, educators, and the district to strengthen belonging—because when students feel they belong, the entire school community thrives.

We believe every student, with the right kinds and amounts of support, can reach their full potential.
At Ardsley HEART, we believe that belonging is created through everyday actions—by people who go out of their way to make others feel seen, heard, valued, and included.
A Champion of Belonging is someone—student, educator, staff member, caregiver, or administrator—who helps others feel welcome, respected, and part of the school community. From Kindergarten through 12th grade, these champions show up in many ways: a student who includes others at recess, a teacher who checks in on every child, a custodian who greets students each morning, or a parent who helps create inclusive events.
Help us recognize and celebrate these champions by sharing their story below. With your permission, we may spotlight them on our website or social media.
